We live in a Victorian terraced house and were getting allot of noise through the party wall in our kitchen diner: footsteps, raised voices, cupboard doors and appliances. Darrin advised us about the different types of soundproofing and what results we could expect from them. He put in an independent wall with acoustic plasterboard and membrane and it has made a real difference. We can enjoy sitting in our dining room without the neighbours lives intruding on ours. We can’t hear voices and the loud impact noises have been reduced into the background. It’s much less stressful. I only wish we could have got it done sooner.

Used DHP Soundproofing who fitted some soundproofing solutions to a party wall in a bedroom. I could hear loud talking/shouting travelling up from next doors front room, darrin came out explained the options and gave a reasonable quote and carried out the work the next week.
There is now no noise in our bedroom, we’re very happy with the result. The place was left clean and in the exact way it was before the work and the plastering was also to a good standard.
I’m going to get them back for further work.

Darrin showed a great deal of knowledge and understanding assessing our needs for soundproofing out garage room into a room suitable for our son to play drums in and offered a range of suggestions. When we agreed the work he arrived promptly and worked incredibly hard to get the work done, showing all he was doing along the way, doing everything from preparation, all the work, arranging glaziers to come in and getting the walls plastered at the end. The materials used and the finished work was of a really high standard and the difference in the amount of sound coming out into the street when he’s drumming is amazing. The wall has made such a difference, we can still hear the neighbours when their really loud but no where near as loud as before and the day to day voices and TV we don’t hear anymore, it’s fantastic being able to watch TV without listening to the their conversation, injecting the floor in the kids bedroom hasn’t really made much of a difference so we will be in touch sometime later this year to have a wall put up, thanks for all your help and honesty about the results we would get.

After a wild goose chase trying to get some soundproofing work done to our house, we contacted DHP.

It was a refreshing change to get an answer straight away. Darrin gave us an approximate quote for two different solutions and then followed up with a quick site visit.

He explained both options and confirmed the quote – no hidden extras or add ons. We were then given a date and duration for the work to be carried out.

Darrin and his team arrived on time on both days and carried out the work to schedule, on budget and with very little disruption. After each day our house was left habitable and tidy. The workmanship is excellent and we are very happy with the results. I have recently had work done by DHP Soundproofing and wanted to take the time to highlight what a positive experience this was from beginning to end resulting in a successful outcome and one happy customer.

I am a musician and live in a terraced house where for a long time now I have been conscious of the noise that not only affects my neighbours but the noise that can be heard on the street outside my property.

I sort the advice of a number of companies but it became apparent early on that Darrin was extremely knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about. The advice given was professional and honest. Darrin listened to what I wanted and created/tailored this to my needs.

I was extremely impressed by the pace and efficiency in which the work was carried out. He was organised, tidy and work was completed to a high standard.

I can now practice to my hearts content with absolute peace of mind. I am really thrilled with the results. It was worth every penny and I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to people.

After living in a detached property for five years, my family and I moved into a 1930s semi-detached house to be closer to amenities and better schools for our children. My wife and I were both shocked by how much neighbour noise we could hear through the party wall: clear conversations, TV noise to the point where we knew what next door were watching, coughs, laughs etc. This could be heard in our adjoining living room and worst of all upstairs in our bedroom from our neighbours in their living room!

We looked into soundproofing. We attempted to soundproof the living room alcoves with soundboards purchased from an internet company. This didn’t work! In attempt to get some peace in our bedroom, I contacted Darrin. He turned up on time and advised on different options. We went for an independent wall with extra insulation between two layers of soundbloc plasterboard as well as insulating the floor.

The work was carried out as planned and completed to a high standard. Darrin always turned up on time and our house was left tidy during the process. He is a skilled and knowledgeable tradesman.

The results were mixed. The independent wall succeeded in blocking any conversation (talking, laughing etc) that we could hear from our neighbours downstairs. However, although the TV noise was reduced, it was still present. Darrin kindly tried some more options that further improved the situation albeit only slightly.

We later realised that the problem was/is our bay window area which is completely hollow. It seems that due to the positioning of our neighbour’s TV, sound is getting into the bay window cavity and reverberating throughout the whole house which is why the independent wall we had fitted on the party wall upstairs wasn’t as effective in blocking the TV noise as it was the conversation.

Over the last 6 months, I’ve learned a lot about soundproofing. My advice to anyone looking to invest in it would be to thoroughly investigate where the sound is coming from and to have realistic expectations of the results. Having said all of that, if you do decide to have the work done then go with a professional like Darrin. He will do everything he can to get the best results possible.
